What is HomingBooks?

Homing Books is all about encouraging more books to fly further afield and to pass through more hands and to be enjoyed by people all across the world by registering your books on this site and then simply giving away your books when you have finished reading them. You can then log-in to the site at any time and track each book's progress around the world.

How Does It Work?

If you have a book that you'd like to give away, just come onto the site and register the book using the add a book form. You can register yourself at the same time, and then you will be given a tracking number for that particular book. You should then write the tracking number, along with this website address (www.homingbooks.com) in the inside cover of your book. Then pass your book to anybody who you think might enjoy it as a gift.

Tell them that when they are next able, they should go onto the website and type in their tracking number into the box above and to add a comment saying that they have received this book. You can add as many comments as you like about each book in this way.

What's In It For Me?

Have you ever been given a book as a gift that has a little inscription on the inside cover? I have many such books. Some books have been halfway around the world and I love reading the little notes that show the history of the books. There is something special about the experiences and journeys that can only be gained from reading books. I have often finished reading books and immediately want to share the experiences that I gained with other people and to encourage them to take similar journeys through reading. Once you've read a book it is also a great thing to be able to pass it on to somebody else so that somebody else can also enjoy it. Just to share and to share alike.
